ShopRite of East Haven: Your Go-To Grocery Destination

It's a great store. I was making a late night grocery run for necessities and had my grocery list ready at hand for my quick scavenger hunt to beat the closing time. Was so happy to see it had everything I need stocked and easy to find. Customer service is great and friendly as well as I had someone asked me if I needed help finding anything which was appreciated even though I did not. I just wouldn't recommend going out here at nights towards closing with a fancy car. Has the faint smell of weed at the exit and the blinking street lamp near the main road that definitely did not help the vib on the walk back to my car. Park near the exit as the main entrance is often closed at nights and be aware of your surroundings when entering or exiting the store at nights which is advice for most winter nights as well.

The best bakery! - wow the cakes (just got a mini one last week) and doughnuts are amazingly fresh and delicious! I won’t go to DD anymore after having these doughnuts

Hello, I wanted to not only give a review, but I wanted to share my personal experience at ShopRite today. Firstly, I wanted to kindly express my thanks, to young Kyla, our cashier. As far as, I am concern it was excellent service, calm demeanor, very professional. I witness this young lady publicly being verbally insulted by what we call today an unruly "Karen" customer who was very rude to her calling this young woman out of her name. She was stunned just as we all were. Asking ourselves what is the problem here. My family member and I and those taking care of us did not engage with this "Karen" customer. What bothered us and the kind woman who was bagging our groceries was puzzled why This "Karen" customer was so rude. What a poor example she was for all of us to witness. The funny thing is that this woman was on the other grocery line next to ours. Kyla our cashier handle this situation so well very professional. We felt so upset and hurt for our cashier today. It was very uncomfortable and embarrassing to say the least. The Store Manager at Shoprite today came out quickly finish taking good care of our business transaction. I think she handled the situation well by asking Kyla our cashier to take a break. She left hurt and seemed stunned. I guess we all were. While This experience was not as positive and as pleasant as it should have been today. I commend Kyla, our cashier, her manager, the kind woman who was bagging our groceries today. Thank you all. Furthermore, We have enough negativity in this world to contend with. Life, time and energy is too precious to waste on moments like the one we experience today. This is a great store, they always have what I need BUT for a while (years) now, the self-checkout area STINKS, literally, not metaphorically. It’s the worst right when you enter it at the first station against the wall. It literally smells like someone pooped their pants or a fish rotted…or both. Without fail, every single time I use the self checkout, I smell it. Other than that, great store!

Always keeo an eye out for good deals. Its over all a pretty great experience though a few times have had issues with mispriced items or a member of staff adimently telling me she gave me the right change and even had to call a manager who said I was right (an item rang up wrong so I went to the help desk to have it fixed to which I had to return it and exchange it for the correct item. She gave a refund and wouldn't honor the coupon I used since I "already used it so I already had the discount taken out of my total" which was incorrect she refunded the original item price and didnt include a refund for the discount or return of the coupon and was quite rude and quite honestly wasnt listening because she felt she was right until the manager came over and said she was wrong. Whoever the lady is she doesnt just work at the help desk I see her all over the front end but she is the only reason I dont want to give a 5 star review. If you are working at the custimer service desk and a customer says something you dont think is right you dont talk condescendingly and get flustered at the customer you remain calm and if its not getting through to the customer you call a manager.

They're veggies and fruits are always good quality and fresh. They're more expensive but I waste less of it.

Great bakery personnel, awesome work on decorating cakes and special requests.

I had a great experience at the grocery store meat department. A gentleman name Israel helped me! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer my questions. The meat was fresh, well-cut, and nicely displayed. You can tell they take pride in their work and care about quality and customer service. I’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend this meat department to anyone looking for good cuts and great service.
